Indradhanu - The Rainbow

Jeffrey Archer

Not A Penny More, Not A Penny Less, A Prisoner of Birth are done. Both are full of conincidences and author's imagination but I liked it. I think I'll give  Kane and Abel  a try.

Lost Umbrella

I know its little childish poem but then I don't mind it. Its for my best friend's dad, who is as dear to me as my dad. We will always be little kids for him, irrespective of our age.
I know I can never listen to his response now and I still have my share of questions and confusion to be sorted out with GOD on that, but I'm sure of what the response would have been....

So here it goes, to a lovely and lively person, who opened a father's heart for me, a gift that I'll treasure forever.....

Lost Umbrella

It was my favorite season, the season of rainbow.
I was all excited to meet you, counting five days to go.

Your wonderful stories, reviews and expert comments on politics
You knew all the theory, yet were practically so honest and simplistic

I wanted to talk to you about the truth in your thought
Without loved ones we are lonely, even if everything else we've got

Raindrops turned in tears and my faith is broken
You encouraged my trust in intuition, then why was it mistaken

I didn't ask for much, just a few joyous years you deserved
Kindness, love and optimism, to taste the fruits of all virtues you preserved

I think GOD was unfair, even after best efforts you had to let go
I'm looking for answers, wondering who else but you, would know

We also tried hard dad, to push destiny away with full resistance
We loved you and shall do forever, though couldn't make much difference

May be some day I'll understand little more about heaven
I'll accept you're happier, with everything better than earthen

I know real tribute to you is to spread thy love to everyone
Its seems lot more tough now, without your live guidance

Rest peacefully dad, your struggle is now over
Keep your blessings upon us, who won't forget you ever...

Happy New Year!

Wish a very Happy 2009! I haven't followed last year's resolution even a single day. So still thinking whether I should think about a new one or follow the same. May be I can have a monthly resolution to make it simpler. This time we didn't have a vacation on 1st. So I think weekly resolution of calling up the near and dear ones, which I could not do due to the workload, should be good enough for now:).

Mr Vagaries's bro has come up with this great initiative, our little chance to make things better!

Absent minded

After a long time experienced my absent-mindedness, went for a movie wearing slippers when I have atleast a couple of good pairs of shoes :(... Learnt that I had never improved, just that my family had saved me from this happening for a long time... this time they were too busy to notice it... But not the friends, they noticed it immediately when I reached the movie hall :p... may be because slippers dont really go well on an ethnic kurta and especially when you are celebrating bday party of a close friend :)

Like a bridge over troubled water: Simon and Garfunkel

Like a bridge over troubled water: Simon and

When youre weary, feeling small,
When tears are in your eyes, I will dry them all;
Im on your side. when times get rough
And friends just cant be found,
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will lay me down.
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will lay me down.

When youre down and out,
When youre on the street,
When evening falls so hard
I will comfort you.
Ill take your part.
When darkness comes
And pains is all around,
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will lay me down.
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will lay me down.

Sail on silvergirl,
Sail on by.
Your time has come to shine.
All your dreams are on their way.
See how they shine.
If you need a friend
Im sailing right behind.
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will ease your mind.
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will ease your mind.

More books

Lot has happened since I last logged in... but I'm still in lazy mood to write everything up :p... For now, only updates on books front. Deathly Hallows was nice ending of Harry Potter series... wanted something equally good to read after that and no doubt I got better - "Hobbit" it was. I felt its more witty than the LOTR series, may be because the adventures are not as difficult as they are in the later.

Now what next? ....probably "The princess bride"

Back to Books

Just finished an Agatha Christie Novel... "Mirror cracked from side to side", good one. I guessed the murderer right, but got the motive wrong :p. Moved on to "Only you can save the mankind", my first Terry Pratchette book. Hope I'll finish it before the last harry potter book arrives :)

Lazy indradhanu will you get up

Blame it to the fatty 10 kgs I've put up recently or total lack of workout and diet... am becoming increasingly lazy day by day. I don't feel like exercising, reading new books(tech/non-tech)/links, no cooking, height is I'm not even keeping in touch with family/friends these days :(...

Just started morning walks today, hopefully that will break this cycle of laziness ...

Raddi Reading

After a long time bought a junk food parcel home, not that I have stopped eating junk food, just that I used to eat out rather than bringing it home:). When I came home and opened it, thereby returned some nice childhood memories... how I used to like reading anything and everything that time. I wouldn't let go even this raddi newspaper/magazine piece, in fact sometimes I used to buy the magazine from Raddiwala to complete any interesting story found on the parcel packing. Feels funny now, today too I read the parcel :).

Parzania

When my friends would cry watching a melodrama I would say, hey thats not real, its all authors/directors imagination. When they would scream seeing blood oozing out, I would say hey thats just waste of tomato ketchup...

But then, what do you do when you know reality was even worse than whats shown on the silver screen? How do you keep cool when you know this is happening right now in your neighborhood, you are not far away from it...

One needs lots of courage to watch such (Parzania) movies, and I wonder just what it takes to live through such an experience in real life....

Stay Hungry Stay Foolish

Why blood donation frequency is around 3 months

Donors are discouraged from heavy exercise or lifting until the next day. Plasma volumes will return to normal in around 24 hours, while red blood cells are replaced by bone marrow into the circulatory system within about 3-5 weeks, and lost iron replaced over 6-8 weeks. This recovery process can be speeded by eating foods high in complex carbohydrates, iron, and other trace minerals. Due to the time frame required for iron replacement, donors are eligible to donate whole blood approximately eight to twelve weeks after the previous donation (the exact period varying by country); in the USA, the waiting period for the two red cell units apheresis donors is 112 days.
